High Purity Ammonium Tungstate Preparation Technology

Tungsten is a refractory nonferrous metal, and is also an important strategic resource. Because of its excellent melting point, hardness, ductility, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, tungsten has been widely applied. At present, the production of APT in China is mainly ion exchange. The quality of APT products is generally the national standard zero grade products, the rest of the national standard first grade or unqualified products.

Ion exchange method in the production process will produce APT scrap, dirty materials, and various impurities APT, commonly known as substandard products such as APT, these APT according to the traditional process is mainly by alkali and then returned to the preparation of tungsten sodium acid solution process, and then transformed into ammonium tungstate solution, obtained by evaporation of ordinary ammonium paratungstate products. This process has long process, low recovery rate and high production cost. The quality of the product belongs to the national standard zero grade products or the national standard zero grade products.

With the continuous development of the tungsten industry, the ammonium paratungstate products produced by the existing ion exchange and extraction methods are increasingly unable to meet the needs of producing high-quality tungsten deep-processed products. The quality of ammonium paratungstate has a direct impact on the quality of the follow-up tungsten deep-processing products, so to prepare high-purity ammonium paratungstate to meet the needs of modern industrial production. Recently, a kind of high purity ammonium paramungstate system has been proposed, which can optimize the production process of APT and obtain high purity ammonium paramungstate with low impurity content.

The process system comprises containers of ammonium paratungstate for silo, calcining furnace, tungsten trioxide bin, WO₃ dissolver, ammonium tungstate solution filter, ammonium tungstate solution storage tank and evaporation crystallizer of ammonium tungstate, ammonium paratungstate crystal and the crystallization solution of ammonium paratungstate crystal separator, dryer, high pure ammonium paratungstate material hopper, and high purity ammonium paratungstate products,

According to the above scheme can obtain a low content of impurities in high purity ammonium paratungstate, its impurity content is low, the total amount of impurities is less than less than or equal to 65ppm, can be used for preparing high quality low impurity content of tungsten powder, tungsten alloy and other deep-processing products.
