Different from the ordinary Co based tungsten carbide, the hard phase (tungsten carbide or titanium carbide) in the steel bond hard alloy can account for 30% to 50% of the total weight of the alloy, and the rest is the steel matrix.

1, Good Machinability
The primary technological characteristics of steel bonded tungsten carbide are machinability and heat treatment. Because of the larger proportion of the steel matrix and the more obvious properties of the steel, the forging and heat treatment process can be carried out.
 
After the process of powder mixing, pressing, sintering, forging, cutting and heat treatment, all kinds of steel bond tungsten carbide products with various specifications and shapes can be obtained. Another important feature of steel bonded tungsten carbide is malleability. When forging steel bonded carbide, it can not only cause deformation, but also improve the structure of material, thus improving its service performance.
 
2, Good Physical and Mechanical Properties
Steel bond hard alloy inherits the high hardness of the hard phase, and the wear resistance of the steel bonded carbide is close to that of high cobalt cemented carbide because of a large number of dispersive and high hardness hard phases.
 
It also inherits the high modulus of elasticity, wear resistance, compressive strength and bending strength of the hard phase, which is superior to the ordinary die steel. But steel bonded hard alloys also inherit the good toughness of the steel. In addition, it has good self-lubrication and low friction coefficient.
 
3, Excellent Chemical Stability
Generally, steel bond hard alloy has high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance to various mediums, which not only benefits in its hard phase, but also has good heat treatment performance.
