Like lead, tungsten has excellent corrosion resistance, and is only attacked slightly by most mineral acids.

At relative humidity of fewer than 60 %, tungsten is corrosion-resistant. In moister air, discoloration starts to occur. However, this is less pronounced than in molybdenum.
