Eric Bristow and Bobby George booked for New Milton Exhibition

Local promoter Barrie Cox has brought together a star-studded line-up for a 'Legends of the Oche' event in New Milton later this year.

Cox has booked golden greats Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Bobby George and Keith Deller for a one-off feast of darts on Friday, August 1.

Bristow, Lowe and Deller won nine world titles between them, while George, one of the game's biggest personalities, was runner-up on two occasions.

The quartet will take to the oche at New Milton Memorial Centre in Whitefield Road for what is expected to be a sell-out.
Bristow, affectionately known as the Crafty Cockney, helped transform the sport in the 1980s and was awarded the MBE for his services to darts in 1989.

Still one of the biggest names in the sport, he won the world title on no fewer than five occasions, while Lowe is one of only five players to have won it three times - in 1979, 1987 and 1993 - and the first to triumph in three separate decades.

Deller won the Embassy World title in 1983 as a qualifier, with his victory over Bristow in the final still regarded as the biggest upset in the history of the competition.

Organiser Cox told the Daily Echo: "This is another massive coup and it promises to be a memorable evening. Eric Bristow is one of the most well-known and well-respected players in the world of darts and he is a huge pull on his own.

"During the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, these guys helped put darts on the map and they were, and still are, box office."
