Skarn Type Tungsten Mine Deposit

Skarn type tungsten ore deposit is one of the main types of tungsten deposits in China. These deposits mainly produce scheelite, and they are generally large deposits. 

Tungsten ores are mostly developed in the vein or fissure and carbonates in granite contact zone, so the distribution is of a wide range and grades are low, China's scheelite grade content is no more than 0.75%.

The cause of the skarn tungsten deposit is the formation of the contact between the tectonic magma carrying the mineral elements and the mantle-derived magmatic intrusive rocks and the carbonate rocks, and alternate action of the ore-bearing aqueous solution and the rock.

Skarn type tungsten ore deposit is characterized by its abundant amount. Although its grade is low, but total reserve can reach million tons. It is also accompanied by other valuable metals such as molybdenum, bismuth, silver, copper and so on. Under the existed technical condition it can realize separation successfully, the economic efficiency is no less than tungsten concentrate. Besides that, tungsten concentrate resource is gradually becoming exhausted, there will be more skarn type tungsten ore deposit being explored.
