I. Analysis of China’s Rare Earth Price Trends in June 2025
According to CTIA GROUP LTD, in June 2025, the price trends of China’s light and heavy rare earth products perged: light rare earth prices showed an oscillatory upward trend, while heavy rare earth prices oscillated downward.
In June, praseodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 2.65%, praseodymium-neodymium metal prices rose by about 1.30%, terbium oxide prices decreased by approximately 1.39%, and dysprosium oxide prices dropped by about 2.41%.
In the light rare earth market, supported by slow growth in spot supply, strong production cost support, and positive future expectations in June, most suppliers raised quotes multiple times. However, due to soft downstream demand, product prices also experienced several corrections, though the extent of these corrections was limited. In the mid-to-heavy rare earth market, low buyer interest led to generally insufficient supplier confidence in maintaining prices. Nevertheless, influenced by the relatively good performance of the light rare earth market and China’s legal approval of certain compliant rare earth export applications, the downward room for product prices remained limited.
II. Average Prices of Rare Earth Products in June 2025
In June 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 460,250 yuan/ton, increased by 3.43% month-on-month and increased by 23.06% year-on-year; neodymium oxide averaged 450,350 yuan/ton, increased by 3.34% month-on-month and increased by 20.70% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide averaged 444,350 yuan/ton, increased by 3.65% month-on-month and increased by 22.00% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal averaged 545,100 yuan/ton, increased by 3.42% month-on-month and increased by 20.88% year-on-year; terbium oxide averaged 7,181 yuan/kg, increased by 1.21% month-on-month and increased by 25.94% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide averaged 1,636,750 yuan/ton, decreased by 0.17% month-on-month and decreased by 12.91% year-on-year; dysprosium-iron alloy averaged 1,588,000 yuan/ton, decreased by 0.68% month-on-month and decreased by 13.20% year-on-year.
