Composite tungsten electrode, which can be also called ternary complex of rare earth tungsten electrode, is mainly a mixture of thorium tungsten electrode(1% thorium), thoriated tungsten electrode(4% thorium) and yttrium tungsten electrode(2% yttrium), certainly, it can also mixing other rare earth oxide elements and adopting different mixing ratio. Usually, the composite tungsten electrode arc properties are superior to single tungsten electrode; and in the composite tungsten electrodes, tungsten electrodes of the ternary complex is better than the binary complex, the optimum ratio of oxides: CeO2: LaO3: Y2O3 = 1: 1: 3

Commonly used tungsten electrodes are pure tungsten electrode, cerium tungsten electrode, electrode, thorium tungsten electrode, lanthanum tungsten electrode and yttrium tungsten electrode, as well as ternary tungsten electrode.
