Nano Tungsten Oxide Wear Resisting Anti-bacteria Painting

Painting is indispensable material in industrial equipment, aerial space and our daily life. Coating it on the surface of project will form continuous membrane, which is wear resisting, high temperature resisting and good looking. With development of technology, traditional painting can no longer meet requirement of construction, medical and military industry.

Nano material has small size effect, intersurface effect and quantum dot tunnel effect due to its small size, it has unique property in photolytic, thermal, electric, magnetic and mechanic field. Nano painting is usually made by compound of nano material and organic painting. Nano tungsten oxide is also a good raw material for painting. It can promote wear resisting and anti bacteria property for painting.

Producing method of add nano tungsten oxide into wear resisting anti-bacteria painting:

1. The coumarone resin, styrene-acrylic emulsion, vinegar emulsion C, glucose sulfate, shikimic acid, 1,4-dioxane and butyl acetate were placed in a high speed stirred tank, heated to 80-110 ° C mixing 10- 30min, cooled to room temperature.

2. Add nano tungsten trioxide, nano tin dioxide, iron acetylacetonate, dodecacarbonyiron, pentaerythritol stearate, maleic anhydride and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and stirring at 1300-2000 rpm for 15-25 min;

3. Adding sodium hexafluoroaluminate, nonylphenol polyethoxy ether and polyvinyl acetate, stirring at 200-600rpm for 18-35min, stirring at 100-300rpm for 50-90min and stirring continuously;

4. Grinding after finished stirring, go through over 300 mesh sieve, stand for 24 hours and then obtain nano-tungsten oxide wear-resistant antibacterial coating.

The results showed that the antibacterial activity of nano-tungsten oxide coating on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus for 90 days was 90%, and the antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus for over 360 days still reached over 82% with good antibacterial effect and long-term stability. In addition, the wear resistance of the coating is good, the wear resistance is less than 13mg, and the impact resistance is higher than 85cm. All the performance indexes are at a high level to meet the needs in the fields of construction, medical treatment and military industry.
