Chinese Rare Earth Consultations United States And Europe to Respond to The Request

China received a request for consultations about rare earths, tungsten, molybdenum export management measures in the United States, European Union, Japan, under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism proposed. Commerce Department of Treaty and Law Department official has issued a statement said that China had policies in respect of exports of raw materials and the parties have maintained communication and contact with the Chinese side has repeatedly stressed that the policy objective is to protect resources and the environment and achieve sustainable development, through unintentional trade-distorting way of protecting domestic industries. The official also said that China will in accordance with WTO dispute settlement procedures, and properly handle the request for consultations.
