Jamaica To build a pilot plant for rare earth extraction

Jamaica Energy Minister , said rare earth pilot plant has been built , the researchers will conduct from the Caribbean island of aluminum slag commercial extraction of rare earth tests.
Start the construction of more than eight months later, this small pilot plant in October 22 was held in Kingston, Jamaica ribbon-cutting ceremony .
Jamaica is a collaboration with Nippon Light Metal Company, which holds a bauxite residue from the extraction of rare earth technology patents . Expected , this will handle about 30 tonnes ( 33 tons ) dry red mud .
