Malaysian government first announced Rare waste storage sites

According to reports, Malaysian Science, Technology and Innovation Deputy Minister Abubakar said recently that concern Lynas rare earth plant permanent waste storage tank construction site, in the industrial area off Dange Bin Lynas rare earth plant. This is the first clear the Malay government announced the location of rare earths waste storage tank.
Abubakar said in an interview, the Government requires a permanent waste storage tank must be located in the rare earth plant, in order to avoid waste transported to other places on the way and cause more accidents workload, so do not waste shipped to other states are buried. He stressed that if waste containing radiation, Lynas rare earth plant must put such waste shipped abroad, can not be stored in Malaysia.
Abubakar said that Lynas Corporation on July 3 has been proposed to the Ministry proposal on permanent storage facilities, Atomic Energy Licensing Board is reviewing the current proposal is a violation of the relevant operating conditions. In addition, the government agreed Lynas rare earth waste into by-products. He also said that the current Linus has not yet put into production, so there is not any product or any rare earth waste, so people do not need to worry.
