Japanese rare earth mine waters of Southern Torishima exclusive exploration rights

METI announced that Japan has received 20 international agencies, may do in the next 15 years on the South Bird Island in the Pacific waters of an exclusive rare seabed exploration. METI said the survey shows that in the South Bird Island, about 600 km southeast of 1000-2000 meters of high seas bottom under a large quantity of rare metals, including extremely important rare earth resources. METI commissioned Japan Oil, Gas and Metals Company to the "International Seabed Authority" for the high seas in the formal exploration, confirmed reserves and so on. "International Seabed Authority" on the 19th approved the application, Japan will be the next 15 years for a total of about 3,000 square kilometers of ocean exploration.
