China's Tungsten Products Imports in the Second Quarter of 2025

According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in the second quarter of 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) amounted to 4,865.59 tons. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 47.99% compared to the second quarter of 2024 and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 26.96% compared to the first quarter of 2025. The import value reached RMB 584 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 26.55% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 19.90%.

Breakdown of Tungsten Product Imports from April to June 2025

From April to June 2025, China imported the following tungsten products:

Tungsten ores and concentrates: 4,402.38 tons, a year-on-year increase of 78.66% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 51.80%.

Tungsten trioxides: 1,379 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 88.74% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 74.73%.

Other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, nes: 3 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 25.00% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 99.99%.

Tungsten hexafluoride: 117.39 tons, a year-on-year increase of 18.48% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 3.23%.

Sodium tungstate: 301.90 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 50.76% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 57.52%.

Ammonium metatungstate: 209 kilograms, with no import data recorded for the first quarter of 2025 or the same period in 2024.

Carbides of tungsten: 23.25 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.91% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 49.79%.

Ferro-tungsten: 37 kilograms, with no import data for the first quarter of 2025 and 1 kilogram imported in the same period of 2024.

Tungsten powders: 7,909 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 0.32% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 47.63%.

Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering: 957 kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 162.91% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 15.83%.

Tungsten wire: 1,462 kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 13.51% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 45.62%.

Bars and rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc.: 953 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 62.89% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 44.82%.

Additionally, from April to June 2025, China imported:

Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 185.55 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.76% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 13.95%.

Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 130.09 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.12% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 7.20%.
