China's Tungsten Products Imports from January to May 2025

According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, from January to May 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) reached 6,343.69 tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.29% compared to the same period in 2024. The import value was RMB 799 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 6.60%.

Among these, from January to May 2025, China's imports included:

Tungsten ores & concentrates: 5,150.27 tons, a year-on-year increase of 46.63%;

Tungstic acid: 10.75 tons, compared to only 2 kilograms in the same period last year;

Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 40.00 tons, a year-on-year increase of 48.11%;

Tungsten hexafluoride: 202.25 tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.33%;

Ammonium paratungstate: 5 kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 25.00%;

Ammonium metatungstate: 209 kilograms, compared to only 1 kilogram in the same period last year;

Ferro-tungsten: 37 kilograms, compared to only 1 kilogram in the same period last year;

Tungsten powders: 19.57 tons, a year-on-year increase of 74.23%;

Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 2,087 kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 335.70%.

Imports of the following products decreased:

Tungsten trioxides: 5,718 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 90.26%;

Sodium tungstate: 861.37 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 33.25%;

Carbides of tungsten: 31.07 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 40.59%;

Tungsten wire: 1,960 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 11.91%;

Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc.: 2,464 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 17.43%.

Additionally, from January to May 2025, China imported:

Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 287.19 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.88%;

Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 208.76 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.57%.
