A Method of Tungsten Target Manufacture

This is an invented way of tungsten target manufacture which involves the following procedures. 
 
  • Machine the surface of tungsten target blank.
  • Place the machined blank into the vacuum bag and then drain away the vacuum.
  • Forge the blank in the vacuum bag.
  • Calendar the forged blank.
  • Cool and remove the vacuum bag.
 
This way is mold-free and can effectively defend the surface of blank from cracking and oxidizing while processing. The structure of tungsten target made by this way is well-distributed with suitable grain size that sputtering target required. What is more, this sort of tungsten target can be processed with ease under low scrap rate. The method is particularly in need when manufacture large-sized tungsten target.

Cerium tungsten electrode:
Cerium tungsten electrode is an environmental friendly product for it has no radioactive contamination. Thorium tungsten electrode:
Thorium tungsten electrodes are widely used in the America and some other countries for its excellent comprehensive purposes. One of its advantages is the sustaining capacity for overload current. However, because of slight radioactive contamination, thorium tungsten electrodes are partly limited in some fields. The main application of thorium tungsten electrode is d-c welding between carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium.
 
Lanthanum tungsten electrode:
The welding capacity of lanthanum tungsten electrode is very good and its conductive property is thought to be the most match to that of 2% thorium tungsten electrode. With no radioactive harm, this sort of electrode is very user-friendly that an electric welder can easily use this convenient alternative without changing any operating procedure. So in Europe and Japan, lanthanum tungsten electrode has being the most popular alternative to 2% thoriated tungsten electrode. Lanthanum tungsten electrode is mainly used in d-c welding but also do well in a-c welding.
 
Zirconium tungsten electrode:
Zirconium tungsten electrodes do well in a-c welding with its end shaped a round ball and process more stable arc than pure tungsten electrode. There are no other alternatives to match expecially to its excellent work under the high load. Zirconium tungsten electrodes also has a reputation for its corrosion resistance. They are mainly used in a-c welding of magnesium, aluminum and its alloys.
 
Pure tungsten electrode:
Pure tungsten electrode is the cheapest kind among all the types, suitable for a-c welding of magnesium, aluminum and its alloys.
 
Yttrium tungsten electrode:
During the process of welding, yttrium tungsten electrode can be compressed to a large extent with slender arc beam. The fusion penetration peaks under the medium and large current. It's now mainly applied in military and aerospace fields.
 
Composite electrode:
Composite electrode is combined with more than two rare earth oxides which complement each other, pomoting the welding performance.
