LED Football Was Invented by Harvard Graduates

Graduates in Harvard University teamed up a research group to invent a new type of “ electricity -generating football”, which can transform vibration of the ball into electricity to light a small room. The football is actually a LED light named “SOCCKET”, in which a plummet is set. When the ball is rolling the swings of the plummet will be transformed into electricity, and electricity will be able to store into a rechargeable battery in the football.

The football only need to be kicked for 30min to keep shining for over 3 hours, the weight of the football, however, only 28g heavier than a normal one.

Designers wish to dish out the football to poor areas, as a result, poor people can also enjoy green energy saving lifestyle. The football is strong enough to be played in the filed as it is made from poly foam.

For now, Soccket is still in the stage of prototype, hundreds of this kind of footballs can be produced every week, the designers have now got the pattern of the LED football, it can be used as light in poor families and schools.
