Samsung delay release the flexible screen phone due to OLED encapsulation technology

It is reported that, Samsung originally planned to be launched flexible screen phone around the end of 2013, however, because the production process -- encapsulation technology --less than ideal standards, published had to be postponed.

The manufacture of flexible screen panel material for use in OLED, while OLEDs are susceptible to moisture and oxygen, impact on the quality of the screen panel, so encapsulation technology is very important. Samsung had said, Samsung have developed a new technology that can shorten the encapsulation process to less than two minutes by using the Vitex System-developed encapsulation technology.

The production of flexible screen panel need to overcome two major technical difficulties. One is plastic substrate technology, another is panel encapsulation technology. Now, Samsung's plastic substrate technology has reached the level required for commercial production. For panel encapsulation technology, Vitex System that Samsung acquired at the end of 2011 has advanced panel encapsulation technology, but has not yet reached the level of commercial production.
