Large fiber steel crankshafts exported to Europe symbolizes a breakthrough in tungsten carbide cutter manufacture in China and China’s ability of introducing and digesting foreign technology reaching a new level.
The contract of three large fiber steel crankshafts MAN9L27/38 signed by CSR(China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Limited) Ziyang Company and ThyssenKrupp(German) come into effect on July 18. This is the first order that China exports large crankshaft to Europe and the first step to European market, which marking a breakthrough in tungsten carbide cutter production in China.
On July 3, the sales manager of ThyssenKrupp, China Office and the German tungsten carbide crankshaft purchasing director investigate CSR Ziyang Company, after they have a site visit and communication about the technology, they highly appreciate Ziyang Company’s technology and manufacture capability and confirm the detailed purchasing matters concerned.
It is understood that the order is planed to deliver in the end of August. Moreover, ThyssenKrupp intends to purchase large tungsten carbide crankshaft in quantity.
In the past, fiber tungsten carbide crankshafts installed domestically such as Germany MAN32/40 and MAN27/38 rely on importation. In 2008, CSR Ziyang Company imports 32/40 and 27/38 series crankshaft technology from MAN (German) and successfully manufactures the first MAN32/40 crankshaft. Now, the company has covers all the production of that pedigree and series, becomes the only corporation that is able to forging、heat treating、machining and manufacturing Type-L and Type-V 32/40 、27/38 series crankshaft. In May, the first 8 32/40 tungsten carbide crankshaft made domestically was marketed to South Korea. It is the first time China exports fiber tungsten carbide crankshafts in bulk, achieving the transformation from depending on import to export in bulk.
ThyssenKrupp was combined by Thyssen Corporation and Krupp Corporation in March, 1999; both were established in the early last century, once made an outstanding contribution to the European steel industry and engineering industry, which were the epitome of Germany heavy industry. The range of it’s product involves many fields such as tungsten carbide product、steel, automotive engineering、machine building、engineering design and trade.
