W Resources Expects First Production from La Parrilla in Second Half of 2013

W Resources expects the La Parrilla tailings project to be in production in the second half of 2013 - after it received final approval.

The regional authority of the Junta de Extremadura has given the go-ahead for the project in Spain, the firm told investors.

Annual plant feed is expected to be around 330,000 tonnes and annual production anticipated to be 28,000 MTU (metric ton unit) of tungsten and 26 tonnes of tin.

W Resources chairman Michael Masterman said: "This is an important milestone for W, as the La Parrilla tailings project is on course to deliver tungsten production within two years of the company acting on its new strategic direction.

"The company has received one indicative offer for financing the La Parrilla tailings, which is currently under evaluation."

Building of the processing plant to the south east of the site will begin in the first quarter of 2013 with capital costs estimated at €1.3 million.

The board is currently evaluating financing options, it said.
