Nano WO3 Applied for Electrochromic Film

Nano WO3 can be used to produce an electrochromic film and then be used to assemble electrochromic devices, such as smart windows. Ultimately, these smart windows are applied in buildings for thermal insulation and energy conservation. Then, after completely bleaching, why is the light transmittance of the tungsten trioxide film slightly higher than the corresponding light transmittance when it is not colored?

This is because when the film is colored by the external electric field, electrons and cations (mainly Li+ in the electrolyte layer) enter the WO3 crystal lattice, and when the reverse electric field film is discolored, electrons and cations are extracted again. The tungsten trioxide electrochromic film is applied with an electric field. Under the combined influence of electric field force and electrons and cations entering and leaving the WO3 lattice to exert a certain force on the crystal lattice, the WO3 lattice tends to be more regular and dense, and the degree of ordering is enhanced. This results in a slight increase in the light transmission of the glass at the first complete bleaching.
