Blue Tungsten Oxide Applied for Inorganic Electrochromic Film

Blue tungsten oxide can be used to prepare an inorganic electrochromic film, which is then applied to architectural glass to obtain smart glass, for shielding infrared rays that will heat the building without affecting indoor lighting.

In fact, there are two kinds of smart glass, one of which is the electrochromic glass mentioned above. The current is applied by the circuit to control the occurrence of discoloration and the degree of discoloration. And the other type is photochromic glass, which naturally darkens to cover excessive light when exposed to light. Either way, smart glass using nano particle size tungsten oxide as the heat insulating medium can be used for smart energy-saving buildings, and thus achieve the effects of heat insulation, UV resistance, anti-glare and the like. Further, there are many methods for preparing a tungsten oxide film, such as anodization method, sputtering deposition method, vacuum evaporation method, and the like. However, these preparation methods are difficult to produce a large-area film. In this regard, experts say that the electrodeposition method is one of the effective methods for preparing large-area tungsten oxide electrochromic thin films.
