According to experts, tungsten trioxide electrochromic thin film can be prepared by sol-gel technology. This is a newly developed technology for preparing a tungsten trioxide film, which has the advantages of simple process, low equipment cost, and easy preparation of a large-area film, and thus it has attracted much attention. Experts say that the commonly used sol-gel method is tungstate acidification method and ion exchange method. The tungstate acidification method is difficult to control the intermediate product - a non-gel precipitate that has neither electrochromic properties nor photochromic properties. The coating layer prepared by ion exchange method is often prone to form gel rapidly, while it is difficult to control the filming time, resulting in low adhesion of the film, opacity or easy cracking. Studies have shown that the addition of certain solvents to the coating solution can improve the performance of the film surface. Experts have found an improved multi-polymer film-forming method and have obtained good results.
