The tungsten market has recently been stagnant and sideways. While holders are holding steady, buyers are highly price-sensitive, resulting in generally cautious market sentiment and poor industry chain transmission.

In the tungsten concentrate market, mine operating rates have increased, and merchants are more willing to sell goods for cash, easing the overall tight supply pressure slightly. The market has stabilized recently, with 65% wolframite concentrate priced at RMB 288,000/ton. Industry players are focused on full-year tungsten mining indicators.

In the ammonium paratungstate (APT) market, upstream and downstream competition in the supply chain is stalemate, with low market activity. Manufacturers are quoting prices around RMB 418,000/ton, with actual transaction prices based on long orders from several representative tungsten companies.

In the tungsten powder market, due to cost pressures and high-price risks, merchant quotes remain firm, but downstream purchasing behavior is becoming more rational, leading to cautious trading and limited orders. Some tungsten powder prices have exceeded RMB 650,000/ton, but transactions at this high level are hindered. Tungsten carbide powder is priced around RMB 630,000/ton.

The ferrotungsten market is currently stable, supported by raw material costs and necessary demand from steel mills. Domestic 70-grade ferrotungsten prices are around RMB 410,000/ton. European ferrotungsten prices have continued to rise due to supply chain issues, increasing 85% year-to-date to USD 81-82/kg W (RMB 404,000-409,000/ton).

In the tungsten waste and scrap market, some holders, due to financial pressure or inventory backlogs, are accelerating sales to cash out. This increased supply has shifted pricing power towards consignees, putting downward pressure on the market.
