China Rare Earth Prices - September 4, 2023

At the beginning of the week, China rare earth prices were partially stable, and some rose slightly, mainly due to the fact that downstream users basically maintained rigid demand purchases and suppliers had a strong sense of price stand-up.

Currently, the prices of dysprosium oxide and erbium oxide have risen by about RMB 30,000/ton and RMB 10,000/ton respectively. According to Chinatungsten Online, the slight increase in listed prices of Northern Rare Earth in September, strong support for production costs, restrictions on the export of mines in Myanmar and the arrival of "Golden September and Silver October" are the main sources of motivation for suppliers to increase quotations.

In terms of news, in September 2023, the listed prices of rare earths in the north will increase slightly: the prices of lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide are both 9,800 yuan/ton, which is the same month-on-month and year-on-year; decreased by 25.93%; the price of neodymium oxide was 485,000 yuan/ton, a month-on-month increase of 1.40%, and a year-on-year decrease of 31.73%; the price of metal praseodymium and neodymium was 588,000 yuan/ton, a month-on-month increase of 1.38%, and a year-on-year decrease of 25.38%; the price of metal neodymium was 598,000 yuan/ton, a month-on-month increase of 1.36%, and a year-on-year decrease of 31.11%.
