China Rare Earth Prices - August 21, 2023

At the beginning of the week, China rare earth prices have seen a slight upward shift in overall focus. This is mainly attributed to restricted production from certain rare earth manufacturers, positive developments in emerging industries, and relatively low raw material inventories for magnet material companies.

Currently, the prices of PrNd oxide, Tb oxide, and DyFe alloy have increased by approximately CNY 7,000 per ton, CNY 150 per kilogram, and CNY 30,000 per ton, respectively. According to Hexun News, it is projected that in August of this year, some enterprises in the new energy industry chain will experience a month-on-month growth of over 10%; the wind power generation and humanoid robot industries are also rapidly developing.

In terms of news: China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-Tech Co., Ltd. achieved a revenue of approximately CNY 1.872 billion in the first half of 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 17.88%. The net profit attributable to shareholders was about CNY 56.41 million, a decrease of 55.26% year-on-year. The non-GAAP net profit was CNY 32.3948 million, a decrease of 64.78% year-on-year. The basic earnings per share were CNY 0.0505, a decrease of 54.59% year-on-year.
