Ammonium Heptamolybdate Price - March 22, 2023

The overall center of gravity of domestic molybdenum prices is still moving down significantly on March 22, 2023, mainly reflected in the price reduction of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum, ammonium heptamolybdate and molybdenum powder to 4,200 yuan/mtu, 275,000 yuan/ton, 278,000 yuan/ton and 555 yuan/kg, respectively.

The main reason why the price of molybdenum products is difficult to stop is that the current price of molybdenum products is still relatively high and the price of steel products is weakening, which to a large extent has affected the enthusiasm of downstream users for inquiries and purchases. Currently, the prices of rebar and 316/2B stainless steel coils have dropped to around RMB 4,249/ton and RMB 9,450/ton respectively.

However, as the price of molybdenum products continued to fall, the enthusiasm of steel companies to bid for ferromolybdenum has increased compared with that in February. Up to now, the total amount of steel molybdenum ferromolybdenum has exceeded 5,000 tons in March. Recently, the steel enterprises that entered the bidding for ferromolybdenum include Shanxi Taigang 60 tons, Shougang Group 10 tons, Jiangsu Yonggang 90 tons, Xinyu Special Steel 64 tons, Hunan Henggang 30 tons, Zhongnan Stock, Dalian Special Steel, etc.

In terms of news: In 2022, 95 key private iron and steel enterprises will achieve sales revenue of 3,232.231 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.83%; realize profits of 30.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 85%, and the decline rate is 9.1 percentage points lower than that of the national iron and steel industry. The profit per ton of steel is 77 yuan, and the sales profit rate is 0.95%. The loss area was 48.42%, and the loss amounted to 19.2 billion yuan.
