China Rare Earth Prices - February 17, 2023

Rare earth market on February 17, 2023: This week, China rare earth prices showed a downward trend as a whole. In the absence of significant improvement in downstream demand and the increase in the resumption rate of rare earth manufacturers, the spot inventory of rare earth raw materials such as praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium, terbium, and gadolinium is slightly loose, which makes it difficult for related product prices to rise.

At present, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, terbium oxide and gadolinium oxide are about 690,000 yuan/ton, 13,100 yuan/kg and 385,000 yuan/ton respectively; the price of dysprosium oxide has fallen below 2,300,000 yuan/ton.

However, due to production costs, the continuous introduction of relevant favorable policies, and the good prospects for the development of new energy vehicles, wind power, robotics and military industries, suppliers basically maintain rational price reductions.

In terms of news: In January 2023, my country's automobile production and sales will complete 1.594 million and 1.649 million vehicles respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 34.3% and 35% respectively. Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 425,000 and 408,000, respectively, down 6.9% and 6.3% year-on-year.
