China’s APT Price Stabilizes as the Market Is in a Stalemate

At the beginning of the week, China tungsten price continues to keep stable as the supply and demand sides are both weak in the market. The supply of low-level resources is limited due to the overhaul of smelters and the impact of the high temperature and flood in many places in China. Concentrate price stands around $16,923.1/ton when mining enterprises face strong investment in environmental protection, energy and labor costs, and stockholders have strong intentions to support the market. However, consumers remain low buying appetite and the price is hard to be raised.

APT price is about $292.0/mtu with prominent pressure from the cost and demand sides. Traders have different expectations for the market outlook. On the one hand, they are concerned that the growth rate of domestic infrastructure will stimulate the recovery of the consumer market in the second half of the year; on the other hand, they are worried about the potential slowdown of economic and demand growth under high inflation, which will inhibit the circulation of tungsten products.

Tungsten powder price hovers around $39.2/kg and trading is low in the off-season. The industry capital is still tight. Affected by the repeated epidemic and high inflation pressure, the market performance of the alloy end is average, and the price of raw material tungsten powder is also weak.

Ferro tungsten price is about $26,153.8/ton. Recently, the demand side of the iron and steel industry has been weak, and the continuous competition between the supply and demand of tungsten raw materials has affected the sales of the ferrotungsten market.
