Strategic Metals Ltd’s Geophysical Surveys in Yukon Return Molybdenum Values

Strategic Metals Ltd. has conducted geophysical surveys at its three porphyry copper projects in the Yukon, with results indicating high values of copper, gold, and molybdenum. The company recently disclosed details of its exploration program. The projects involve geophysical surveys designed to better understand the porphyry system.

Doug Eaton, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Metals, said, "The purpose of the geophysical survey is to follow up on the results obtained from earlier exploration programs on these highly prospective porphyry properties. The geometry of these systems is difficult to determine from surface work alone because two of the prospects are located in non-glacial zones in the Yukon where deep weathering and metal leaching are common, and the third prospect is a young upper porphyry where erosion has exposed only the very top of the system. The information from these surveys combined with current data will allow for three-dimensional modeling that can be tested by future drill programs."

Located 26 km south of the Alaska Highway, the Mint project is one of the youngest porphyry systems in Canada. The Company's work program since 2010 has outlined interesting geochemical and geophysical signatures centered on an area of hydrothermal alteration. Geochemical survey results have identified strong copper, gold and molybdenum values within an area approximately 2,000 meters in diameter.

Most of these holes intersected strongly fractured, vegetation-altered rocks that yielded moderately to strongly enriched gold values, but only weakly elevated copper and molybdenum values.

Detailed mapping and exploration in 2021 identified a 300-meter diameter zone containing good mineralization, strands, and sheeted quartz veins. rock samples collected from the northern target in 2021 contained more copper and molybdenum than samples collected elsewhere in the Mint porphyry system and returned strongly upgraded results including peak values of 2.3% copper, 1.365 g/t gold, 32 g/t silver, and 0.337% molybdenum.

The Alotta project is located 40 km south of Western Copper and Gold Corporation's Casino porphyry deposit. The Alotta project and the nearby Casino deposit are located in an unglaciated portion of the Yukon and are characterized by deep weathering. IP tuning of the Alotta property is somewhat indicative of the depth of weathering and the nature of alteration and mineralization in the underlying porphyry system.
