Emu NL Lights Up Tungsten and Gold Anomalies in WA

Emu NL performed UV testing on rock fragments from recent RC drilling, and the results showed that these samples fluoresced, identifying tungsten (W) and gold (Au) anomalies.

Junior exploration company Emu NL has identified a 10-kilometer long structural corridor with Au and W potential east of Geraldton, Western Australia at its flagship Badja project. Results from a recent soil sampling program show a clear sequence of targets along the corridor.

Emu's Badja Au project is located in the resurgent Murchison mining district, 32 kilometers southeast of the historic Yalgoo mining center. Notably, the project is located 85 kilometers north of Tungsten Mining's Mt Mulgine W-Mo project, which has a 207 million tonne resource base of 0.11% W, the largest inferred W resource in Australia.

Recent drilling at Emu's Monte Cristo property has returned multiple W discoveries including 12 meters grading 0.12% W from 58 meters containing an internal meter and 6 meters grading 0.18% W from 58 meters down-hole.

Following encouraging drill results, Emu conducted a comprehensive soil geochemical survey along the structural corridor to test for extensions of known gold mineralization at the Gnows Nest deposit and to further suggest anomalous intercepts of Au and W recently identified at Monte Cristo and Watertank Hill.

The company said the results of the soil survey highlight a large number of high-priority Au-in-soil anomalies that coincide with favorable geological and structural settings. A high-priority Au-in-soil anomaly reportedly extends continuously between the recently discovered Christ Mountain and Watertank Hill properties, suggesting that the two Au properties may be linked.

According to Emu NL, two drill rigs are in place and will begin drill testing these high-priority targets in mid-April. The 2,500-meter-long reverse circulation or "C" probe will test the company's Au properties at the Monte Cristo and Watertank Hill connections, while probing the source of the high tungsten anomaly at Monte Cristo.

In addition, the company said it has designed two deeper RC holes to test the continuation of saddle Au mineralization between the north and south plunging veins at the Gnows Nest Au property. Earlier exploration by the project's previous owners returned a shallow JORC resource of 113,400 tonnes at 3.78 grams per tonne of Au at Gnows Nest.

Emu said it continues to investigate the economic importance of the W anomaly encountered during recent drilling at Monte Cristo. A set of 44 samples has been resubmitted to Nagrom Analytical for a specific analysis of W.

While assay results are not yet available, Emu says it expects results from subsequent rounds of sampling to be more convincing due to more specific analysis. To satisfy its curiosity, Emu NL says it also performed UV testing on all Monte Cristo RC drill cuttings to visually identify the fluorescence of scheelite, the primary W host mineral. The company reports that six new W-rich zones have been identified in the previous drilling that has not been analyzed for multiple elements.

The European Commission has identified W as a "critical raw material" whose global importance is growing due to imminent supply risks and its inability to be replaced. China currently accounts for nearly 85 percent of the global supply of tungsten concentrate, prompting other countries to secure their own supplies to offset the risk of geopolitical supply chain disruptions.

The results of our recent soil sampling program indicate the emergence of significant new areas in other untested areas of Badja, delineating a 10 km long corridor of end structures representing a large exploration area.

The Murchison area is now attracting a large number of new explorers following new Au discoveries made in the area by companies such as Surefire and White Cliff Minerals. With the addition of high grade, tungsten comes further potential value for the company's gold array at Monte Carlo.
