China Rare Earth Price - January 21, 2022

China rare earth price showed a pattern of ups and downs as a whole in the week ended on Friday January 21, 2022. Under the circumstance that the stock of rare earth raw materials is low and the market demand is limited, the price competition between buyers and sellers is fierce, and the transaction is difficult to increase.

In the light rare earth market, the market is generally in general, the Spring Festival and the Winter Olympics are approaching, environmental protection policies are becoming more stringent, and the epidemic situation in some areas is still relatively tense, and the release of production capacity of rare earth smelting and separation enterprises is even slower, which is conducive to suppliers' quotations, but Downstream users have more inventory, so there are fewer new orders.

In the medium and heavy rare earth market, the prices of mainstream products have not changed significantly. The prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium ferroalloy are around 12,800 yuan/kg and 3,000,000 yuan/ton respectively. On the supply side, the import of Myanmar mines is blocked and the production of domestic rare earth producers is limited. This is the main reason for the current shortage of spot supply; on the demand side, in order to avoid the risk of upside down, buyers basically maintain a rigid pick-up.
