Songjiagou Molybdenum Deposit in Shaanxi Province

The large-scale Songjiagou molybdenum deposit is located 342 degrees northwest of Luonan County, 31.5 kilometers away from Luonan County, and the deposit is in Huanglongpu Village, Shimen Town, Luonan County in Shaanxi Province. The deposit was discovered after more than 10 years of geological exploration in 2000 later.

The Songjiagou molybdenum deposit discovered by the geological team is a large-scale molybdenum deposit, which is a quartz-calcite carbonate vein-type molybdenum deposit. At the same time, the deposit is also associated with lead, silver, rhenium and other metals that can be comprehensively recycled, especially the recyclable rhenium metal resources amount to 263 tons. Because of the shortage of rhenium in my country, the development of this deposit is of great significance.

The lithology is the interbedded sericite phyllite and tuff. The lower subgroup of the Gaoshanhe of the Mesoproterozoic is a set of littoral-neritic clastic rock and magnesian carbonate strata. The rock series is interbedded with metal quartz sandstone and sandy sericite, with the underlying Xiong'er.

The folds in the mining area are mainly the Caojiagou-Shijiawan anticline. The anticline dips eastward to the east of Songjiagou with an inclination angle of 38-44 degrees. The north flank is inclined to the northeast with an inclination angle of 55-65 degrees. The core and wing strata of the anticline are composed of the Gaoshanhe formation, which controls the main ore-bearing strata in the mining area.

The ore minerals in the Songjiagou molybdenum deposit of Shaanxi Province are mainly molybdenite, galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite (1028, 10.00, 0.98%), etc. Gangue minerals are mainly calcite and quartz, followed by potash feldspar, celestite, and some biotite, hornblende, chlorite and epidote, etc. Oxide minerals are a small amount of limonite.

The mining area has obtained 302 million tons of proven ore, 305,000 tons of molybdenum metal, and 0.101% average molybdenum grade. Lead, sulfur, silver, rhenium and other metals are associated with the deposit. Rhenium is mainly found in molybdenite. The total amount of rhenium resources that can be recycled and utilized in the deposit is 263 tons. The recovery rate of rhenium in molybdenum concentrate is as high as 95%.

The mine plans of Songjiagou Molybdenum Deposit in Shaanxi Province to adopt an underground shaft mining method, with a daily mining volume of 20,000 tons of ore and 6.6 million tons of ore annually. After reaching production, ammonium perrhenate alone accounts for more than half of the current national annual output, and the annual output of rhenium can reach 4 tons.
