Weak Consumer Demand Dragged Down Ferro Tungsten Price

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

Weak consumer demand continued to put downward pressure on ammonium paratungstate (APT) and ferro tungsten prices in the Chinese market in the week ending Friday June 19, 2020.

The markets both at home and abroad have been under pressure for the past few months with the spread of the Covid-19 virus continuing to reduce demand for tungsten products. European tungsten prices have held steady last month as low consumption offset the bullish impact of rising Chinese domestic prices, but a stalemate is setting in between buyers and sellers, and only changes in demand patterns are likely to break the deadlock.

The future trend in the tungsten market depends on how long the global coronavirus situation lasts and whether China’s new infrastructure projects can boost economic growth, according to the sources.
