China Rare Earth Price - Apr. 15, 2020

The rare earth price in China is unchanged from the previous trading day when market inquiry remains to be improved. Firstly, due to the impact of the closure of many overseas manufacturing companies, the prices of rare earth products have been declining. At present, the sales price is close to the cost, which has forced the holders to quote rationally.

Secondly, rare earth smelting companies' production decreases when raw material inventories are low during the maintenance season. Besides, foreign manufacturing companies that have been suspended due to the fight against viruses will gradually resume production. Therefore, market inquiry may become active in the future.

China’s rare earth exports in January-February 2020 were 5489.2 tons, down 17.3% year-on-year, and the export value was US $ 42.5 million, down 42.1% year-on-year.
