Tungsten Prices in China Climbed Due to the Coronavirus

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

The tungsten prices in China have been in the upward trend in the week ended on Friday February 14, 2020 with the impact of Coronavirus tightening the supply of raw materials. Most factories remained low operating rate, workers did not come back to work and the transportation was restricted, so the whole market had price but deals were difficult to be concluded.

Amid limited demand, prices for the tungsten intermediate product, APT, remained stable week on week at $235-245 per mtu, but one source noted that logistical constraints could support this market too. But the trader noted that the extension to the holiday period in China had meant that dates for shipment of units due to leave China were uncertain.
