Transport restrictions in China affecting tungsten raw material supply amid the coronavirus outbreak have led to a more active tungsten spot market in China and as a result have lifted prices in the global market.

Some suppliers opted to take advantage of the hike in prices and sell volumes, while others expressed reluctance to sell amid a seemingly tightening supply and the potential for further price increases. Now more and more companies have resumed production and the transactions will gradually be back to normal. But market transactions are expected to be hardly concluded in the short term.
