Tungsten and Molybdenum New National Policy

New national policy for tungsten and molybdenum has been issued: cancel the prohibition of foreign investment in molybdenum exploration and mining, and encourage foreign investment in tungsten and molybdenum deep processing industry.

On June 30th 2019, National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China issued the Special Management Measures for Foreign Investment Access (Negative List) (2019 edition) and the Special Management Measures for Foreign Investment Access in the Free Trade Zone (negative list) (2019 edition), the Encourage Foreign Investment Industry Directory (2019 edition).

According to the contents of this list and catalogue documents, the new national policy states that mining industry has cancelled restrictions on oil and gas exploration and development limited to joint ventures and cooperation. Regulations of prohibiting foreign investment in the exploration and mining of molybdenum, tin, antimony and fluorite were cancelled as well.
