The tungsten market in China was caught in heavy wait-and-see atmosphere in the first trading day after the holiday of May Day as most market participants are waiting for the new average tungsten forecast prices from Ganzhou Tungsten Association and offer levels for the first half of May from large tungsten companies. 

Under the deadlocked supply and demand, mainstream tungsten prices tended to stabilize as the demand side is expected to maintain weak in the short term, most traders focus on the stabilization in the raw material side. Smelting factories try to reduce the risk of price inversion by cutting outlook.
