Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

Tungsten prices in China continued to remain unchanged from last week. On the one hand, the decline in new offer levels from listed tungsten companies weakens market confidence; on the other hand, affected by weak terminal demand, market trading atmosphere is quiet.

As tungsten concentrate sellers have low acceptance for new offers from large companies, downstream remains weak activity in purchasing high-price raw materials, and buyers and sellers have different psychological prices, the raw material markets are deadlocked in transactions. At present, the main supporting factor for prices of tungsten products is the stability of the tungsten ore market, and high grader tungsten concentrate price stabilizes at $14,843.8/t.

Xiamen Tungsten’s offer for ammonium metatungstate (APT) was at $261.3/mtu, down $3.5/mtu. The decline increases the pressure on downstream inquiry, but considering the supply of spot goods is at a relatively high level, manufacturers try to avoid the rise of price inversion. With the support of cost, APT price will not drop sharply and smelting factories would reduce their production to stabilize product prices.

For the tungsten powder market, businesses have been waiting for the release of terminal demand, but downstream tungsten carbide and product enterprises still received fewer increased orders and buyers remain low buying appetite. On the whole, the market is weak at present.
