Baotou Rare Earth Prices Mostly Increased Month-on-Month in June 2025

According to the Baotou Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in June 2025, among the 36 key monitored industrial products, month-on-month data shows that prices of 24 products, including cerium oxide, rebar, polyethylene, and PVC, decreased; prices of 3 products, such as lanthanum oxide and lanthanum metal, remained stable; and prices of 9 products, including neodymium metal, A00 aluminum, and #1 copper, increased. Year-on-year, prices of 27 products, such as high wire, hot-rolled coil, and A00 aluminum, decreased, while prices of 9 products, including rare earth carbonate, lanthanum oxide, and praseodymium-neodymium metal, increased.

Among Baotou rare earth prices for June 2025, among the 8 key monitored rare earth products, 4 saw month-on-month price increases, 2 remained stable, and 2 declined. The largest month-on-month increase was for praseodymium-neodymium metal, with an average price of 544,111 yuan/ton, increased by 41,111 yuan/ton (an 8.2% rise); year-on-year, it increased by 96,111 yuan/ton (a 21.5% rise). Year-on-year, 7 products saw price increases, with 1 declining; the highest year-on-year rise was for cerium oxide, averaging 10,900 yuan/ton, decreased by 600 yuan/ton month-on-month (a 5.2% drop), but increased by 3,600 yuan/ton year-on-year (a 49.3% rise).

According to CTIA GROUP LTD, in June 2025, prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 460,250 yuan/ton, increased by 3.43% month-on-month and increased by 23.06% year-on-year; neodymium oxide averaged 450,350 yuan/ton, increased by 3.34% month-on-month and increased by 20.70% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide averaged 444,350 yuan/ton, increased by 3.65% month-on-month and increased by 22.00% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal averaged 545,100 yuan/ton, increased by 3.42% month-on-month and increased by 20.88% year-on-year; terbium oxide averaged 7,181 yuan/kg, increased by 1.21% month-on-month and increased by 25.94% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide averaged 1,636,750 yuan/ton, decreased by 0.17% month-on-month and decreased by 12.91% year-on-year; and dysprosium-iron alloy averaged 1,588,000 yuan/ton, decreased by 0.68% month-on-month and decreased by 13.20% year-on-year.

Among the 3 key monitored non-ferrous metal products in Baotou in June 2025, A00 aluminum averaged 20,517 yuan/ton, increased by 399 yuan/ton month-on-month (a 2.0% rise) and decreased by 53 yuan/ton year-on-year (a 0.3% drop); #1 magnesium ingot averaged 17,611 yuan/ton, decreased by 976 yuan/ton month-on-month (a 5.3% drop) and decreased by 2,314 yuan/ton year-on-year (an 11.6% drop); and #1 copper averaged 78,973 yuan/ton, increased by 503 yuan/ton month-on-month (a 0.6% rise) and decreased by 482 yuan/ton year-on-year (a 0.6% drop).
