Density and Impact Properties of Tungsten Nylon Shielding

As the density increases, the impact strength of tungsten nylon shielding material successively reduced, but when low density, the moderate amplitude of impact strength is low. When the density is 8.8-11.0g/cm3, the data increases linearly, this is because with the increase of the content of tungsten particles, the voids at the interface also increases linearly, and the impact strength of the composite material with 11.8g/cm3 density decline larger, which is due to high levels of tungsten powder, can not fully wrapped nylon collective particles, the voids at the interface is bigger, so that impact strength has a sharp decline. In the whole, the impact strength of the 11.0g/cm3 density composite has a smaller decline in the acceptable range.
