Dysprosium Oxide Price - March 18, 2024

At the beginning of the week, Chinese rare earth prices remained within a narrow range, with prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide and dysprosium oxide decreasing by approximately 3,000 yuan/ton and 20,000 yuan/ton respectively.

Meanwhile, the prices of praseodymium oxide and terbium oxide remained stable at around 367,000 yuan/ton and 5,400 yuan/kg respectively. It is evident that the market situation at present did not continue the slight increase seen in the middle of last week. This is mainly due to continued weak downstream demand and limited support from favorable factors. However, in order to avoid the risk of cost-benefit inversion, suppliers have limited room to offer discounts.

In terms of news, according to Changting News Network, on March 14th, the inaugural ceremony of Zhongxi Jinlong (Changting) Rare Earth Co., Ltd., jointly invested by China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. and Fujian Jinlong Rare Earth Co., Ltd., was held. Zhongxi Jinlong mainly operates based on the rare earth ore smelting and separation business of the original Jinlong Rare Earth, and began independent operation in 2024, with a current capacity of 5,000 tons. In the future, Zhongxi Jinlong will establish a new 10,000-ton separation production line in Fujian Province to enhance the resource guarantee of the rare earth industry chain and promote the high-quality development of the rare earth industry in Fujian.
