Tungsten Molybdenum Ore Exploration Achieved Breakthroughs in Luoyang

Tungsten molybdenum ore exploration in Luoyang has made great achievements. The reporter from Los Newspaper Media got information from the Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning of Luoyang that, Henan Bureau of Geo-Exploration & Mineral Development deepened strategic cooperation in tungsten molybdenum ore prospecting and achieved many fruitful achievements. 

They have found a number of mineral resources in Luoyang, such as tungsten, molybdenum, as well as silver, lead and zinc, which actively promote the construction of “Resources Luoyang”.

The relevant person from the Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning of Luoyang introduced that, since last year, the exploration of the Luanchuan tungsten molybdenum ore mine has achieved a major breakthrough in prospecting, with a new submission of 970,000 tons of molybdenum metal, 940,000 tons of tungsten trioxide and 246,000 tons of lead and zinc metal.

The research predicts that the amount of tungsten molybdenum ore mine in this area will become a super-large tungsten-molybdenum mine. In the exploration of silver and lead-zinc mines in Luoning and other adjacent places, the total amount of lead-zinc metal was 2 million tons and the amount of silver metal was 4,000 tons. In the deep bauxite mine of the Yanlong coalfield, a new large-scale bauxite mine was newly discovered, and the amount of bauxite resources is expected to reach 120 million tons. 

At the same time, significant progress has been made in the exploration of fluorite deposits in Luanchuan and Songxian. It has been found that a number of large and medium-sized fluorite deposits have submitted a total of nearly 10 million tons, which lays a solid foundation to the development and establishment for Luoyang to be an influential fluorine chemical industry city in China. The gold mine exploration "To the Deep into the Earth" project also focuses on the deep development of old mining base in Shanggong area in Luoning, the cumulative amount of gold metal added to 50 tons, effectively extending the Length of old mine’s service.

In accordance with the cooperation framework, Luoyang cooperates with Henan Bureau of Geo-Exploration & Mineral Development to implement Luoyang selenium-rich soil survey project, completed the 1:50000 fine selenium-enriched soil survey, and initially delineated 113.9 square kilometers of selenium-enriched land, which is the rare selenium-rich concentration areas in China, a variety of crops has reached the selenium-enriched standard.

In addition, Luoyang also cooperated with Henan Bureau of Geo-Exploration & Mineral Development to promote urban tungsten molybdenum ore geological survey, clean energy utilization, mine geological environment protection, ore tailings resource utilization etc. And they have completed the detailed investigation of the 1:50000 geological environment of mines in Luoyang City, and accomplished the status inquiries on the distribution, mining type and operation survey of 436 ore tailings ponds in Luoyang area. They comprehensively understood the geological environment and geological disaster distribution of the mine gathering area, which laid a foundation for promoting and guiding the construction of green mines and the economic development of Luoyang Mining.
