Fine Grain Tungsten - copper Composite Material Preparation Methods

The present invention provides a fine-grain tungsten - copper composite material preparation methods, which consists of W-Cu powder mixture, and then by high-energy ball milling, and add the liquid medium and the surface active agent, and then dried to obtain nano-W-Cu composite powder, followed by solid-phase sintering into high-density alloy. Steps are as follows:

① Alloy composition is: (100-χ) W-χCu, χ is 5-50%, the main component of W;

② The W and Cu of the two powders was mixed for 12 hours to obtain W-Cu mixed powder;

③ The mixed powder was put into the high-energy ball milling drum, add balls or tungsten carbide balls, the ball 5/1 - feed ratio of 20:1, the medium was added in the ratio of 0.8 to 2.0, the liquid milling medium, was added 1-5wt% surfactant high energy ball milling, vacuum reached 1 × 10-2MPa, passed through a protective atmosphere (N2, Ar, etc.), the milling time of 5-60 hours, to obtain a powder of liquid;

④ The powder liquid is dried to obtain the grain size of 20-50nm, ultrafine particle size of W-Cu composite powder of nanocrystalline structure 0.2-0.5μm;

⑤ The complex nanocrystalline W-Cu powder forming complex body under the pressure of 200 ~ 500MPa;

⑥ The green compacts were sintered into a sintering furnace, pass into the atmosphere H ↓ [2] or the decomposition of ammonia or vacuum; at 5 ℃ / min-20 ℃ / min heating rate of rise 400 ℃ -700 ℃, incubated 5min -120min then at 20 ℃ / min-60 ℃ / min to the sintering temperature rise rate of 1150 ℃ -1350 ℃, incubated 30min-120min, to obtain density of 97-99.5%, W grains 1-2μm, tensile strength of the W-Cu alloy 700-800MPa.
