Around the Clock is a straightforward and entertaining dart game that can be picked up quickly. The game is an excellent way to practice your aim, as you'll have to hit every individual section of the board.

1.Get a partner. Around the Clock requires 2 people.

2.Measure distance. Technically you should be standing 7 feet, 9.25 inches from the board. Use a tape measure and mark with tape for accuracy. Or estimate, if you'd prefer. Just be sure that each player maintains the same throwing distance for fairness.

3.Decide who goes first. This can be decided by throwing one dart at the board and awarding first turn to the high scorer.

4.Player 1 throws darts. Each player will alternate throwing his 3 darts. The object of the game is to proceed from 1 to 20 in order. So you will aim for 1 first, and once you've hit it, move on to 2, and so on. If you hit a number out of order, this number does not count--only numbers hit in appropriate order will allow you to proceed to the next number.

5.Pull darts off the board. Player 2 then throws three darts.

6.Once a player has reached 20, she will need to hit the bull's eye, and then the double bull's eye. The player who hits the double bull's eye first is the winner.

Velcro darts is a type of board game typically played by children. Normal dart board games use pointy darts that are dangerous for kids. Velcro darts are safe because there is no sharp tip to cause injury. There are several versions of sticky-velcro dart games but they are all played by the same rules. Players form teams or play individually. Points are kept and totaled up at the end of the game. The person or team with the highest number of points wins.

1.Practice before the game. Each player gets up to nine warm-up shots.

2.Throw a Velcro dart at the Velcro target to see which person or team goes first. If you are playing individually, each person throws a dart at the board. If you are playing on teams, one person from each team throws a dart at the board. The person or team with the dart closest to the bulls-eye goes first.

3.Make a line on the ground with masking tape that is centered in front of the dartboard. Place the line as close or far as you want from the dartboard but remember that you have to stay behind it when throwing the darts.

4.Throw three darts at the board (one at a time) on your turn. Each player goes in turn. If you are playing on teams, one person from each team throws and it moves on to the next team. Do not step over the line or the throw doesn't count and cannot be re-thrown.

5.Retrieve the darts and count the points after you've thrown all three. The outer ring is worth the amount posted on the outside of the ring. One ring in, they are worth double. Two rings in is worth triple. Outer bulls-eye is worth 25 points. A bulls-eye is worth 50 points. A dart must stay on the board for at least five seconds for the points to count.

6.Rotate through all the players and add up the scores. The person or team with the highest score is the winner.

Darts is a sport that requires a good degree of accuracy and practice if you are to become a successful player. There are various versions of the game that can be played professionally or just for fun. No matter which version or level you play at, having an effective throwing style will improve your chances of being more accurate.

1.Place the dart in your open palm. Roll it to your finger tips using your thumb. Grip the dart with at least three fingers around the barrel or point. The size and shape of the barrel will affect the amount of grip needed to throw accurately. For example, a smaller barrel will require less grip than a larger one. Ensure the point remains upright before release to allow a straighter throw.

2.Align your dominant foot so that it is behind (or level) with the throwing line. Lean slightly forward on your front foot, bringing you closer to the board and maintaining balance. Keep your back foot touching the floor, while placing the majority of weight on your front foot. Focus your eyes solely on the part of the board you are aiming to hit. Your shoulders should be parallel to the ground.

3.Bring your throwing hand up so that it is level with your dominant eye. Pull your arm back and release the dart at a tempo that suits you. Make sure to keep your wrist straight on the follow through, or the dart may land off-target. Remain focused on the target for the next dart, exchanging the next dart from your non-throwing hand to your throwing hand immediately to maintain rhythm.

Since Medieval England, the game of darts has been used for many different reasons. From combat training to pub games, darts have been a part of people's lives for years. With numbers being added to the dart board in 1896, a score keeping method was devised.

1.Write your name and your opponent's name at the top of the board, leaving space for a downward column to the left of the first name.

2.Draw a line directly under the names.

3.Draw a line straight down between the two names. The line should reach to the bottom of the paper/dry erase board.

4.Draw a line from the top of the scoreboard to the bottom, starting directly to the left of the first name and going straight down.

5.Going downwards (in the column created by the far left line) list the numbers 14-20, followed by a "B" for "bullseye."

6.Draw lines going from the left of the board to the right side separating each of the numbers and the "B."

7.Play your darts game, marking each time you hit one of the numbers on the scoreboard.

Scoring darts is a relatively straightforward but important task. At best, it is frustrating to the players when you, as a scorer, cannot keep up with their scoring and provide useful and current information. In particular, players need to know how much they have left to score so they can work out their strategy for checking out, which is only achieved when the last dart hits a double. In most formats of the game, if a player exceeds his total, he busts his score (the score of his three darts do not register). So, if a player is on 101, and hits triple 19 (57) and then 20, you must inform him he requires a double 12 (as he has 24 left to score)

1.Program your electronic scoreboard to the format of darts game you wish to play. For example, some matches are played between two opponents from 301 down to a finish, while some team games are competed from up to 1001 down.

2.Add a score after each person has thrown each dart. For example, add 20, 20 and 18 (making 58) if a player throws these scores.

3.Enter the total of the three darts into the scoreboard and allow it to calculate the score. For example, if a player is throwing his first three darts and is scoring from 301 and hits triple 17, 19, 19, then he has scored 89. Enter 89 on the keypad of the scoreboard and it will perform the calculation (301-89=212).

4.Inform players when they are three darts from a finish -- hence run the risk of busting their score -- using a checkout chart, which contains the conventional combination of scores for a player to register a checkout. For example, the highest checkout that can be achieved is 170, which can only be done by hitting triple 20, triple 20, bull's-eye.

5.Work out a player's three-dart average, which is the average amount he scored per three darts thrown. Press the average button on the scoreboard's keypad, which will display a two- or three-digit number, often providing one or two numbers after the decimal place. The highest three-dart average in a Professional Darts Corporation World Darts Championship final was achieved by Phil 'The Power' Taylor in 2009 (110.94).

6.Watch each player throw all three darts before calculating the total scored. Do not try to subtract each dart from the score as it occurs, as this is slower.

7.Subtract a player's three-dart score from his overall total. For example, if a player throws his first three darts scoring from 501 and hits triple 20, triple 20, single 20, then he scored 140, which reduces his total to 361.

8.Inform players when they reach a score that leaves them within three darts of a checkout. For example, if a player reaches any number lower than 171, he is almost certainly on a checkout (169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159 cannot be checked out in three darts). Always have a checkout table on hand. Consider pinning it up next to your dartboard to make things quick and simple.

Darts games are popular contests of skill and accuracy found in English pubs, American bars and home recreation rooms. While the games include '01 countdown games (301, 501, and so on), cricket, high score and Shanghai, all of them rely on the same dartboard with 20 numbered wedges, an inner and outer ring, an inner and outer bullseye and the same rules for scoring individual throws.

1.Allow 3 dart throws for each player per round in the game.

2.Count every dart that hits the board as a throw, whether it sticks to the board or not. Score only those darts whose points touch the board (including one whose point is not embedded but is supported by other darts so that it touches), but do not score darts that lose their points before hitting the board or that stick into other darts (called "Robin Hoods").

3.Score a dart that lands outside the bullseye and outside the inner and outer rings with the value of the wedge it lands on. If the dart point crosses under the wire separating 2 wedges, score it by the value of the wedge from which the point visibly sticks out. If the dart splits the wire between 2 scoring areas so that it lands in both, score the dart by the higher value, even if it causes the player to "bust" in a countdown game.

4.Double the score of the dart if it lands within the outer ring of a scoring wedge. If the dart crosses under the wire separating the ring from the rest of the wedge, score it according to from where the point visibly sticks out.

5.Triple the score of the dart if it lands within the inner ring of a scoring wedge.

6.Award 25 points if the dart lands in the outer bullseye and 50 points if it lands in the inner bullseye.

Darts is a bar or party game normally played using a felt-covered cork board and metal-tipped darts. Electronic dart boards are available from game companies such as Halex; these boards eliminate concerns over sticking darts in the walls or floor.

The game of darts is considered both a team sport and an individual sport; most team games can be adapted for a single player for practice purposes. The majority of dart games are based around scoring points or reaching totals to complete the game. The practice element is to improve accuracy in the player's ability and at the same time make practicing an enjoyable experience.

Round the Clock
In Round the Clock, you begin by throwing a dart aimed for the No. 1 segment of the board. If you hit that segment successfully, throw the next dart at the No. 2 segment. The rules state that you cannot move on to any subsequent number until the current number has been successfully obtained. When you reach No. 20, you must then hit the outer ring and then the inner ring of the bull's-eye to finish the game. To set a personal challenge, you can aim to complete the game in fewer darts each time.

'01 Darts Game
The classic 301 or 501 down game begins with the player scoring as high as possible until she reaches a point where she can finish the game by hitting a double segment or the outer bull's-eye ring.

This is identical to the competition game that two players fight out between themselves, but it can still be played by solo players. You try to lower your score to zero, throwing three darts on each turn. If your score goes lower than one or zero, you have "bust" and must replay your three darts to finish the game. Your score is returned to the same score you had before your last turn.

Diddle for Middle
This is a reverse version of the '01 game, where a player aims to score exactly 501 or 301 --- predetermined by the player prior to beginning --- from the zero position. With every throw of three darts the score is increased until you hit exactly 501 or 301. You must begin the game by hitting any "double" segment of the board and finish the game by hitting the appropriate "double" segment according to the amount you have remaining.

If you hit a higher score on your final turn, you have "bust." The turn is wiped out and you must replay the turn.

Ace
Ace is another good practice game by which a random number is selected for each round. You must score the exact amount to "win" the game. Any segment of the board can be hit, but the scoring amounts according to the type of segment. Single segments count as one point, doubles are worth two and treble segments worth three points. The outer bull ring is four points and the bull's-eye is six.

A dart will not count if the thrower's toe extends over the toe line before the dart is released. Leaning over the line is permitted as long as the thrower is not touching or holding on to any fixture or person for assistance. For steel tip darts and bristle boards, the dart must stick in the board and remain for 5 seconds or it will not be counted, though some house rules may stipulate 3 seconds. Darts that miss the number grid, bounce off the board, fall short of the board or fall out of the board in less than 5 seconds are scored as zero and may not be rethrown in that turn. In electronic dart games using nylon tip darts and automatic scoring by the machine, the machine is always right. If the machine scored the dart, even if the dart fell immediately, the score stands. However, if a dart remains stuck in the grid, but the machine did not tally the score, it is permissible to tap the dart in to activate the scoring mechanism.
