Darts is a skillful game that requires patience, a good eye and accurate throwing technique. It is played both in the pub and at a professional level whether at the World Championships or within a local darts league. If you have a passion for the sport, coach darts to help improve other players. You could be responsible for the development of the next big star like Phil 'The Power' Taylor or Martin Adams.
1.Learn the rules of darts. Hopefully if you want to coach somebody else, you'll already have a passion for the sport and be a seasoned player so you'll know them already. Brushing up will help improve your knowledge and answer any questions set by the player.
2.Find a practice space (a community hall, pub or spare room for example) and put up the darts board, chalkboard and draw a throwing line on the floor in chalk. Hang the darts board, measuring 5 feet 8 inches from the floor to the middle of the bulls eye. Draw the throwing line 7 feet 9.25 inches from the wall directly from the board.
3.Find a darts player who wants a coach. Advertise in the local area by putting up posters in shops, schools or fitness centers for example.
4.Arrange a coaching schedule with your player. Practice at least twice a week. Agree a time when you can both meet for between one and two hours to practice darts together.
5.Set objectives for each session. Nice Darts advise that staying focused on specific goals during each practice session will improve performance. For example, plan a set number of drills and give set targets such as ten minutes for your player to shoot as many double twos as possible.
6.Instruct the darts player to warm up before starting the coaching session. As the Professional Darts Corporation outline this focuses the player and loosens up their muscles and arm alignment for better throws. A good warm up exercise is for the player to throw all the numbers from 1 to 20 around the board and then all the doubles and trebles.
7.Communicate good techniques, hints and tips to your darts player throughout the coaching sessions. For example, as the Professional Darts Corporation explain learning how to release the dart properly is crucial to being accurate.
8.Focus your coaching sessions on the weaknesses of the player such as a poor stance, loose darts grip or bad arm extension during a shot. When coaching you'll need to iron out errors in the player's techniques. Use videos of darts matches to demonstrate how the professionals do it.
9.Use different timed exercises throughout the sessions. This adds an element of pressure and excitement that is useful when the player comes to compete. For example, instruct the player to throw as many double 12s as possible in 5 minutes or time them on throwing 100 bulls eye shots.
10.Keep a record of each practice session with the player and give them homework or things to practice on whilst you're not together. Write down what the player did, what goals were achieved and what time drills you used. You can use this record as a way to monitor improvements and analyse which areas need to be worked on.

Rules of Killers

An excellent game for playing darts is called “killers.” In this game, you will find enough enjoyment and challenge to help you in other dart games that you like to play. While there aren’t any points associated with the game, it still takes a fair level of skill to win.
1.Determine the player who goes first by seeing who can get closest to the bull’s eye in one throw. Record names in order of turn, and place three marks to the right of each name indicating the number of “lives” each player has.
2.Throw the dart with the opposite hand of familiarity. For example, if you are right-handed, throw your dart with your left hand. All players must follow this rule. Once a number is hit, no one else can claim it as theirs.
3.Hit the double (B) ring of your own number to become a “killer.” You can also become a killer by hitting the double (B) ring in your initial throw. The other rings are immaterial in this game.
4.Once a killer, hit the double (B) ring of your opponents three times to eliminate them from the game. This number can be altered to a higher or lower number that is set at the outset of the game.
5.If you hit your own double ring, count it as a kill and erase one life from your own name.

What Are Beer Darts?

Beer darts is a fun, silly outdoor drinking game that is good to play at barbecues and tailgating parties. Players take turns aiming their darts and throwing them to try to puncture the opposing player's beer can. To play, you will need a case of beer (inexpensive beer is better since much of it will be spilled), six light-weight darts, two low-level chairs or stools, and a water resistant mat that is about 15 feet square.
Origin
The exact origin of beer darts remains unknown, but many believe that the game was first developed in Minneapolis in the 1990s. After several years, lovers of the game developed official rules for beer darts.
Set Up
Each game of beer darts involves two people. Place a water resistant mat between you and your opponent. Use masking tape to mark two lines in the mat, one on either side. The lines must be exactly 10 feet apart. The two players will sit on chairs or stools set behind the lines. Place an opened beer can (full) on each line. Each player will aim for the beer can on the opposite line. Each player holds three darts.
Rules
Each player takes turns throwing his darts at the beer can on the opposite side of the mat. If you puncture the beer can, your opponent must drink the beer in the can up to the hole (so that it no longer spills from the hole). If you simply "tick" the can, meaning that the dart hits the can but does not puncture it, your opponent must take one sip from the can. The first player to puncture the opposite can three times wins, but if there is no more beer left in the can for the opposing player to drink, the other player wins even if he has not punctured the can three times. If one of the players "dunks" the dart, meaning that the dart sticks in the top of the can where the mouth hole is, that player wins and the opposing player must drink the entire beer.
Safety
Beer darts can be dangerous if the players are not careful about where they throw the darts. It is generally safer to use lighter-weight darts. Players must only aim their darts at the opposing player's beer can. All players must be careful to keep their ankles and feet out of the way when the darts are being thrown. As with any drinking game, limit consumption and have a designated driver.

How to Play French Darts
- Details

If you've never heard of French darts before, you might be surprised to learn that it's not even played with actual darts. It's played with Frisbees instead, in a similar fashion to horseshoes, with two teams of two players working together to score the most points. The catch is that each player must hold a drink in one hand for the entire game to make it harder to balance. While French darts has gained its reputation as a beer drinking game, it can be just as fun to play with a non-alcoholic beverage.
1.Pick teams. There needs to be two teams with two players on each team. For larger gatherings, you can rotate players and switch teams to get everyone involved.
2.Set up the playing area. You'll need two poles or pipes that are approximately 4 feet, 8 inches high and thick enough to balance an empty bottle on top. Space the poles 40 to 50 feet apart, hammer them into the ground, and mark an 8-by-8-foot square around each pole with tape. Mark each pole about a foot above the ground, which will be the scratch line. Then balance an empty bottle on the top of each pole.
3.Fill up four cups, with the beverage of each player's choice. Players are not allowed to set down the cups during the course of the game.
4.Get in playing position. Each team must stand behind its pole. Players then take turns throwing the Frisbee at their opponents' pole, with the goal to knock down the bottle. The team whose bottle is being thrown at has two goals: catch the Frisbee or catch the falling bottle while still balancing their drink.
5.Keep score. Only the team that is throwing gets points. They get 3 points if the Frisbee and the bottle touch the ground, 2 points if the other team catches the Frisbee and the bottle falls, and 1 point if the other team catches the bottle and the Frisbee falls. They receive zero points if the opponents catch both items or if the Frisbee doesn't reach the scratch line on the pole.
6.Play for a given period of time, or until the score reaches the decided upon amount. Keep the cups full throughout the game.

Dodge Chrysler originally used the name "Dart" for a show car built for the company by the Italian automobile design firm Carrozzeria Ghia in 1956. The real Dart was originally meant to be an inexpensive full-size car, finally released in 1960. It was almost named the Zipp; fortunately, more tasteful heads prevailed. The Dodge Dart went through many changes before production ended in 1976. The 1967 to 1969 Darts underwent many changes from the previous generation of 1963 to 1966. The GT sport was introduced in 1968, which also saw the demise of the two-door Dart sedan.

The standard Darts in 1968 were the 270 hardtops and sedans. Dodge offered several body styles this year, including two two-door sedans, five two-door hardtops, four four-doors and three convertibles. Standard Darts got a new grille and round turn signal lights, as well as new taillights and round side marker lights. The 1986 models also included the first release of the GT Sport (GTS), a faster compact addition to the GT line. The GTS featured a divided grille, power bulges on the hood, two rear exhaust tips and either-side racing stripes or rear bumble-bee stripes. The GT and the GTS got new chrome side moldings. At the end of 1968, Dodge dropped the two-door sedan and replaced it with the Swinger for 1969.

1968 Dodge Dart

Many classic car enthusiasts love nothing more than a clean car restored to factory specifications. However, there is a subset of enthusiasts who prefer to alter the look and function of a classic car to a more aggressive set up. Hot rodders have a long history of lowering their rides to make them seem like they're moving fast even when they're standing still. Lowering a 1968 Dodge Dart requires a few tools, some new parts, and a weekend to dedicate to the project.
1.Lift the car onto the jack stands by using the floor jack. Make sure to raise the Dart enough to allow plenty of room underneath to work. Place each of the four wheels off of the ground, ensuring that the car is secure on the jack stands.
2.Remove the wheels from the front of the Dart. Detach the brake lines and disassemble the wheel hubs. Loosen the hex nut at the top of the spindle, which will free the spring and shock assembly. Slide out the spring.
3.Disconnect the shock at the upper and lower arms, and remove. Disassemble the front control and A-arm assemblies. Remove the spindles, then the ball joints.
4.Press the new bushings into the new suspension pieces, including the A-arms, control arms, ball joints and spindles.
5.Install the dropped ball joints, then the dropped spindles. These two replacements will drop the front end of the Dart considerably.
6.Reassemble A-arm and control arm assemblies. Install new, lower shocks and shortened springs, then reassemble the wheel hub and brake system. Replace the wheel and repeat this step for the other side of the front suspension.

How to Make Dart Backboards

A game of darts can be fun for the whole family, but errant darts that land outside the board will leave holes in your wall or mar its finish. Protect the wall behind your dart board with a backboard that is inexpensive and easy to build. The backboard will provide an attractive setting for your dart board, your wall will last longer, and you won't wince every time a dart misses the target.
1.Cut a piece of Homasote or cork board 3 feet wide by 4 feet high, using a hand or circular saw. Smooth the cut edges with 120-grit sandpaper. If you wish, paint the Homasote the color of your choice.
2.Mark the locations of the wall studs with a stud finder and pencil.
3.Position the backboard against the wall, with the top of the backboard 7 feet 2 inches from the floor. Make sure the top of the board is level.
4.Attach the backboard to the wall with 1 1/4-inch wood screws. Use two screws per wall stud.
5.Mount the dart board to the backboard with 1/2-inch wood screws.
