Tungsten Carbide Tipped Saw Blades Sharpening

Tungsten carbide tipped saw blade is a saw blade used steel made blade as its main body, and with small tips of carbide brazed on to the body. It is claimed that a fine tungsten carbide tipped saw blade will provide a ten to twenty times longer tool life compared to a normal steel tipped saw blade. But it should be noticed that, eventually the tungsten carbide tip do get dull.

Generally, the sharpening techniques of tungsten carbide tipped saw blade are similar to the steel ones, whereas the abrasive is different. For the tungsten carbide tips, as they are extremely hard, the applying abrasive usually is diamond or a carbide abrasive wheel, which hardness could overweight the tungsten carbide tips.
