According to the researchers, they have produced a range of nano-sized doped tungsten oxides that are ideal for selected applications in heat insulation coatings via hydrothermal synthesis. Wherein, absorption in the UV, visible and, most importantly, NIR can be controlled by varying the dopants and dopant ratios. In a word, the smart window of doped tungsten oxide nano particles is designed to maximize NIR absorption while minimizing absorption in the visible region.
