The electrophoretic deposition method, that is, the electrodeposition method, is a simple film forming technique for preparing a large-area film. In this process, the film is formed on any conductive substrate without being affected by the shape of the substrate. At present, the researchers commonly adopt electrodeposition methods by using tungsten powder as the tungsten source mostly. And the tungsten powder is added to the hydrogen peroxide to form the peroxo-tungstic acid (PTA) precursor solution. And then the negative pressure is applied under the three-electrode condition, so that a layer of WO3 can be deposited on the conductive substrate to which the working electrode is connected. The WO3 films produced by this method are mostly amorphous, which tend to be relatively dense - not conducive to the diffusion of ions. Therefore, electrodeposition of various crystalline WO3 attracts the attention of researchers.
