The classification of electrochromic layers includes an anode discoloration layer and a cathode discoloration layer. The electrochromic layer should meet the following technical indicators: good cycle reversibility, short color response time, long service life and good durability. The cathode discoloration layer and the anode discoloration layer form a complementary function, and oxidation and reduction reactions respectively occur under an applied voltage, while coloring/fading, thereby obtaining a faster discoloration rate and a larger light modulation amplitude.
